My Internship Experience
Written by: Natalie Andrade
My name is Natalie Andrade and I am currently a junior attending Bell Gardens High School. Besides that, I am also a part of the MUSD Energy Ambassador Program and so far I love participating in events here in my community. So far, I have given a presentation about the MUSD Energy Ambassador Program to the Lions Club of Montebello, given information about energy savings and our program to my fellow neighbors and at the library, written energy guide articles, created a laundry appliances flyer, and even practiced a home consultation.
One of the best feelings is knowing that my classmates and I are slowly impacting our community. It is very important that the residents of Bell Gardens and Montebello know how to save energy and money. I have also learned plenty of energy tips, but most importantly, I also gained social skills that I will need for my future.
My expectations for this program is that we all continue to get sign ups for home consultations. This will not only benefit the interns, but it will also benefit the residents. Our team goal is to get at least 10 signups for each month and I know that we can accomplish it. I also hope to increase my interaction skills, which can improve by talking to people about the Energy Ambassador Program. Furthermore, I am looking forward to attending a real home consultation because I want to acquire more experience and knowledge.
To conclude, I am very proud of myself for taking this opportunity because I am learning simple techniques that can help save energy in my household. My classmates and I want more people to save energy, save money, and overall make our environment more beautiful.
